Multifold Portable Ramp, 10ft
A 10 foot multifold ramp for a rise of about 10 inches, the length for two steps rather than one.
Why this one
For two steps
Suits a rise of about 10 inches, covering two shallow steps or one very tall one.
Measure the total rise
Two standard steps is 12 to 16 inches of total rise, not 7. Measure the total, not one step.
Multifold packing
Folds twice to about 2.5 feet, which is what makes a ramp this long transportable at all.
Be honest about weight
Heavy. At or beyond what many people can repeatedly lift in and out of a car, especially an older carer.
Consider a fixed ramp
For daily use at the same door, a modular ramp with handrails is usually more practical than carrying this.
Best for occasional use
Portable makes sense for travel and occasional use rather than as a daily solution at one entrance.
About this product
A 10 foot multifold ramp, suiting a rise of about 10 inches. This is the length for two steps rather than one.
Two steps is where portable ramps get long
People underestimate this badly. Two standard steps is 12 to 16 inches of total rise, not 7.
At one foot of ramp per inch of rise, a 10 foot ramp properly suits about 10 inches, which covers two shallow steps or one very tall one. For two full height steps you may need the 12 foot.
Measure the total rise from the ground to the top surface, not the height of a single step. That one measurement decides whether the ramp you buy is usable or dangerous.
Multifold, and what it means here
Folded twice, a 10 foot ramp packs to about 2.5 feet. That is what makes a ramp this long transportable at all, since folded merely in half it would be 5 feet and fit almost nothing.
Be honest about handling it
A 10 foot aluminium ramp is heavy. It is at or beyond the limit of what many people can comfortably lift in and out of a car repeatedly, particularly an older spouse who is doing the pushing as well.
If it will live at one location and be set up occasionally, that is fine. If it has to be loaded and unloaded several times a day, think carefully, and consider whether a modular ramp installed at the property would serve better.
When a permanent ramp is the better answer
At a 10 to 12 inch rise used daily at the same door, a modular ramp is usually more practical: it stays put, has handrails, and nobody has to carry anything.
Portable makes sense for travel and occasional use. Tell us how it will be used and we will say honestly which suits.
