Small Bath Seat
A small bath seat for a young child who needs some support sitting in the bath, but not full clinical positioning.
Why this one
For modest support needs
Supports a small child who has some trunk control but is not safe sitting unsupported in water.
Simple and affordable
Far simpler and less expensive than a clinical bathing chair, and less imposing in a family bathroom.
Know what it is not
A seat rather than a positioning system. No adjustable angles, lateral supports or reclining range.
Consider growth
Outgrown by definition. For years of use rather than months, an adjustable chair costs less over time.
About this product
A small bath seat for a young child who needs support sitting in the bath, but not the full positioning of a clinical bathing chair.
Where it fits
Between an ordinary baby bath seat and a specialist paediatric bathing chair. It suits a small child who can hold their head up and has some trunk control, but who is not safe sitting unsupported in water.
For a family whose child needs modest support, this is a simpler and far less expensive answer than a Manatee, a Leckey or an Ultima. It is also less imposing in a family bathroom, which matters to some parents more than they say.
Being honest about the limits
It is a seat, not a positioning system. It has no independently adjustable back and leg angles, no lateral supports, no reclining range, and it will not hold a child who cannot support their own head.
If the child slides, lists to one side, cannot hold their head up, or needs to be washed lying back, a proper bathing chair is the right answer and this one is not. We would rather say that than sell you the cheaper option.
As the child grows
A small bath seat is outgrown, by definition. If the child is likely to need bathing support for years rather than months, a chair that adjusts and grows will cost less over time and will not need replacing at the point it stops fitting.
Using it
Never leave a child unattended in the bath, with or without a seat. Check the seat is stable and grips the tub floor before the child is placed in it, and be aware that suction fittings do not hold on textured tub bases.
