Homecraft Lightweight Padded Shower Chair
A heavily padded shower chair with a cutout seat and commode pan, on a lightweight corrosion resistant frame.
Why this one
Heavily padded
A genuinely padded seat and backrest rather than moulded plastic, for thin or sensitive skin and longer showers.
Cutout seat
The seat aperture gives access for personal cleansing while seated, which otherwise often needs help.
Commode pan included
A pan is included, so the same chair can be used as a commode as well as a shower seat.
Arms clip back
Armrests clip backwards to clear the side for a transfer from a wheelchair or bench, then clip forward again.
Corrosion resistant
Anodised aluminium with stainless steel fittings, so it resists corrosion under constant wet use.
Lightweight
Light enough to move in and out of a shared bathroom without difficulty.
About this product
A padded shower chair from Homecraft with a cutout seat, on a lightweight anodised aluminium frame with stainless steel fittings.
Heavily padded, which is unusual here
Most shower chairs have a moulded plastic seat. This one has a genuinely padded seat and backrest, which changes who it suits: anyone thin, frail, or with sensitive skin, and anyone whose shower takes long enough that a hard seat becomes uncomfortable.
Padding is also warmer to sit on, which matters more than people expect in a cold bathroom.
The cutout seat
The aperture in the seat serves two purposes. It gives access for personal cleansing while seated, which is otherwise awkward and often needs help. And it aids drainage, so water runs through rather than pooling under the person.
A pan is included, so the chair can also be used as a commode.
Arms that clip back
The armrests give security while sitting and standing, and clip backwards to clear the side for a sideways transfer from a wheelchair or a bench. So one chair handles both a person who walks in and one who transfers across.
Built for water
Anodised aluminium with stainless steel fittings, so the frame resists corrosion in constant wet use. It is also light, which matters if the chair is moved in and out of a shared bathroom.
Fit and setup
Height adjustable with non-slip ferrules. Maximum user weight 300 lbs. Set the height so the feet rest flat with knees at roughly a right angle, and confirm all four legs are set identically.
A version without the seat aperture is also made if the cutout is not wanted. Ask us.
