Half Rails for Halsa Bed (HB3606)
Half rails for the Halsa bed, giving a handhold at the upper part of the bed without enclosing it.
Why this one
A handhold, not a cage
Cover the upper section of the bed, giving a handhold exactly where someone reaches for one.
Bed stays open
The lower half stays open, so a mobile person can still get out at the foot end without feeling penned in.
Matched to the bed
Made for the Halsa bed and supplied by Permobil, with gaps engineered around that frame.
Barrier is a different job
If the concern is rolling out rather than needing a handhold, tell us and we will advise on the options.
Mattress changes the fit
A thicker mattress alters the gaps and reduces how far the rail stands above the sleeping surface.
Check the latch
Confirm the rails latch positively in the raised position every time they are put up.
About this product
Half rails for the Halsa bed, HB3606. They cover the upper section of the bed, where someone holds on to sit up and get out.
Half rails are a mobility aid
Half rails run along the upper part of the bed, giving a handhold exactly where someone reaches for one, without enclosing the whole bed.
That is what most people actually want when they ask about bed rails: something solid to pull on when rolling over, pushing up to sitting and moving to the edge, rather than a barrier to keep them in place.
Leaving the lower half open matters too. A mobile person can still get out normally at the foot end and does not feel penned in, which is often why full rails end up removed after a few weeks.
If a barrier is what you need
If the concern is someone rolling or sliding out of bed rather than needing a handhold, that is a different product. We supply half rails for the Halsa Plus bariatric bed as well, and can advise on what is available for your frame.
Bear in mind that full rails are not automatically safer. Someone mobile and confused may climb over and fall from a greater height, and rails carry entrapment risk for anyone unable to free themselves. A fall mat beside the bed is sometimes the better answer.
Fitting and safety
Made for the Halsa bed and supplied by Permobil, with gaps engineered around that frame and its intended mattress. A thicker mattress alters those gaps and reduces how far the rail stands above the sleeping surface.
Check the rails latch positively in the raised position every time they are put up, and confirm the fixings periodically.
