Disposable Briefs, XXL
Tabbed disposable briefs at XXL, changed lying down, with proper attention to fit and skin folds.
Why this one
Changed lying down
Side tabs allow a change with the person lying down, rather than standing them up.
Practical for carers
At larger sizes, standing someone to change a pull-on product is demanding and risky for both people.
Too small causes damage
Too small digs in at the waist and legs, and skin under constant pressure from an elastic edge breaks down.
Too large still leaks
Too large leaks at the legs whatever the capacity, so most leaks are a fit problem not absorbency.
Skin folds need care
Deeper skin folds trap moisture and heat, so cleaning, drying and a barrier cream matter more at this size.
Refastenable tabs
Tabs refasten, so the fit can be checked and adjusted without wasting the product.
About this product
Disposable briefs in XXL. A tabbed brief with side fastenings, at bariatric sizing.
Sizing at the larger end
Getting the size right matters more here than anywhere else in the range. A brief that is too small at this end of the sizing does not simply leak, it digs in at the waist and legs, and skin under constant pressure from an elasticated edge breaks down quickly.
Equally, buying larger than needed does not help. A loose brief leaks at the legs regardless of how much it can hold, and most leaks people blame on absorbency are really a fit problem.
Size by hip and waist measurement, not by clothing size. If it is between sizes, come in and we will work it out with you.
Tabs, and why they suit assisted care
Side tabs mean the brief can be changed with the person lying down, without standing them up or working anything over their feet.
At larger sizes that matters a great deal. Standing someone to change a pull-on product is physically demanding for a carer and risky for both of them, so a tabbed brief is usually the practical choice where any assistance is involved.
Tabs also refasten, so the fit can be checked and adjusted rather than wasting the product.
Skin care is not optional here
Larger body sizes mean deeper skin folds, which trap moisture and heat and are harder to dry properly.
Clean gently at every change, dry thoroughly including in the folds, and use a barrier cream. We stock cleansing wipes and barrier cloths, and at this size they matter as much as the brief itself.
If it is leaking
Check the fit and the change frequency first, then consider absorbency. Moving up a level rarely fixes a fit problem.
