A lot of clients ask about if we recommend buying a manual or electric beds. Both of these models share the same basic features/functions with almost an identical bed frame, but each model has its own unique advantageous and disadvantageous. We will summarize these features below.

Manual hospital beds

Manual hospital beds have multiple advantages which include:

  • Lower purchase price
  • Reduced risk of malfunction
  • Lower maintenance cost

Main disadvantage of a manual bed is the need for assistance to adjust the bed if the patient is bedridden.

 

Electric hospital beds

Electric hospital beds feature an easy adjustment using the hand pendant.

Disadvantageous include:

  • Higher purchase price
  • Higher maintenance cost and risk of malfunction
